First My AL Prospects
C- Matt Wieters This guy is a future star and is surrounded by good young talent in Baltimore!!
C- Also watch for Carlos Santana of Cleveland, he will probably be in the Majors by June and he's not that far behind Wieters in talent, reminds me of Victor Martinez!!
1st base- Watch for Justin Smoak of the Rangers, he's a switch hitter with power and a great on base percentage.
1st base- Also keep an eye out for Chris carter of the A's, he has tremendous power, he is your prototype 1st baseman!!
2nd base- Scott Sizemore will probably start for the Tigers, he has decent power, he will hit around 270. and maybe give you double digit steals.
2nd base- Gordan Beckham this guy has a chance to be a future star, he showed last year that he has plenty of pop and I believe he will hit for a high average, he will also get double digit steals.
SS- Elvis Andrus of the Rangers has alot of star quality especially on defense, if he hits for a higher average he could be a very good base stealer!!
3rd base- no one really jumping out at me here but I will say follow wat Brett Wallace is doing for the Blue Jays, he has the potential to hit for a high average and he has little pop in his bat.
OF- Desmond Jennings if this guy is on the Rays roster I say pick him up by all means, he is a five tool player for sure. He is good enough to take over center field and have B.J. Upton moved to right!!
OF- Michael Taylor he is not as good as Jennings but he has decent speed, can hit for power and also should hit around 300, so he is also a nice pick up if he's on the A's roster.
OF- Michael Brantley looks like he will be the man in left field this year for the Indians. Not much power but will steal alot of bases if he can hit for a high average.
SP- Neftali Feliz if he is in the Rangers starting rotation then he is a must have prospect because this guy has electric stuff. His fastball is about 98mph so he strikes out alot of batters but he also has very good command!!
SP- Wade Davis he has the same type of stuff as Feliz so if he's in the Ray's rotation I say grab him and watch the young man grow!!
SP- Brian Matusz this young hurler is probably the most ready for the big leagues. He has all four pitches and he is a crafty left hander. He will be in the Orioles rotation!!!

Thursday's blog!!
Just wanted to write about the hot topic of kids going to college for one year and then going to the NBA!!
The NCAA should be ashamed of themselves allowing these kids to be eligible to play basketball while having only 6 credit hours and a D average, that is insane!! Then to top it off, the kids performance isn't tracked at all during the second semester which means these kids don't even have to attend class to remain eligible!! I know some people want to blame the NBA for this but they are not the problem, the NCAA shouldn't be getting used like this, they have to take a stand and enforce tougher rules or get the NBA back to negotiating table with the players union and try to get these kids to stay for at least 2 years if not more!!
By doing that, they would then get rid of the kids who really have no intention of going to school and they can choose to go to Europe or play in the D league for a year!! These kids do have other options to make money right away so don't force them to go to school with this stupid setup and Stop allowing this to be a total Mockery!!

Today in the NBA, the Magic will destroy the banged up Hornets in Orlando and LA even with out Kobe will defeat the aging Spurs in Inglewood!!

Down in Austin Texas the Long Horns have been struggling lately but tonight I expect them to get that bitter taste out of their mouth with a Big win tonight against a great Kansas team, I also like the Aggies of New Mexico State at home against Louisiana Tech and I also like West Virginia at home against a very good Villanova squad, I just feel home court will prevail here!!

Tonight I like the Avalanche in a tough fought game against the Blues and I also like for the red hot Kings to go up to Anaheim and beat the Mighty Ducks!!

Championship Sunday
NFL Today
Well the domes will be jumping today!! In Indianapolis I think it will be a hard fought grudge match that the colts will win. I think the score will be something like 23-10... the Colts advantage will be that they just faced the Ravens who are a carbon copy of what the Jets are!! this will be a good hard nosed game to watch!!
In game 2 down in New Orleans, I expect a little bit of a shootout and I expect the Saints to prevail...My prediction of the final score is N.O. 34 Minn 24....I don't think Minny plays as well on the road and this time that loud noise will go against them, the Saints look like the team we thought they were and if that's the case home field will definitely prevail here!!

In other action, In the NBA I like the Wizards over the Clippers, In the NCAA I like Florida St. over Ga. tech, Wisconsin big over Penn St, Northern Iowa over Indiana St. and Creighton all over Mo St!!!
Hockey Today
For you hockey buffs I like Pitt over Philly!!

In fantasy baskets look at acquiring Daniel Gibson of the Cleveland and monitor how long J. Noah will be out for the Bulls, if he's out any length of time then pickup Brad Miller!!!
Baseball fantasy coming next month...Look for my 9 steals of the draft!!
